Going as an exchange student to France and living in Rouen was one of the best experiences of my life. I really enjoyed attending school at Jean Paul ll. All the teachers and students were really kind and I have made friends that I will have for my whole life. One of the hardest things for me at school was that I came to France with a low ability to speak French but everyone was patient with me and after a few weeks there my French came naturally to me.   I enjoyed all of my classes there and found it interesting to see the differences between school in France and Canada. It was very interesting to see how the classes were taught and how different the curriculum is from the curriculum in Canada. I also liked being able to have two hours for lunch as in Canada we only have thirty minutes to eat. I found it interesting to see how many of the students take school seriously and how hard they study as in Canada school is very easy and it is easy to get good marks. For me, it was very different to live in a city as in Canada I live in a very rural area. I liked being able to walk everywhere and found the city beautiful from the timber framed houses to the gothic churches. I was given the opportunity to travel around the country and have some amazing experiences from surfing in Bretagne to skiing in the French Alps to touring the south of France. I could not have asked for a better city to live in, a better a family to live with, a better school to attend, better friends or a better experience. France and its culture has left a lasting impression on me and I will be back throughout my life. The memories and experiences I have made will never leave me. I am so grateful to have been given this amazing opportunity and thank you to everyone who helped make my time in France memorable and the best it could be.
